Depression is the most common psychiatric diagnosis.

But the intensity and unique ways it impacts any given individual are very broad. It is a disease that exists within and attacks the mind. It is no more a choice or personal failing than having any other physical illness.

Depression is not the only mood disorder. The others are often misdiagnosed and misunderstood. If you’ve had the feeling that you have “more than depression” or “there’s just something else wrong with me” those intuitions are definitely worth exploring, especially if you haven’t responded to medication and therapy as well as you’d like.

Similarly, if you’ve been told you have bipolar disorder or disruptive mood dysregulation disorder, but have not responded to treatment so far, you are an excellent candidate to work with me to better determine how you could feel differently.
